ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Roger Raymond Riess will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Day Lei Den Funeral Home in Aurora, Ill.
Mr. Riess, 62, of Aurora, formerly of Rochester, died of cancer Friday (Sept. 26, 2003) at his home. He had been ill three weeks.
Born Sept. 5, 1941, in Rochester, he grew up in Rochester and graduated with the first senior class of John Marshall High School in 1959. He served with the Army in Germany for two years. In November 1965 he married Sandy Kauski in Aurora. Mr. Riess worked for Caterpillar Corp. in Aurora for 30 years and retired in 1993. His wife is a retired city of Aurora employee. He was an active member of the Ward 3 Club and enjoyed fishing and sports.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg (Natalie) of Naperville, Ill.; a daughter, Mary (Jeff) Anderson of Aurora; seven grandchildren; seven brothers, Donald (Donna) of Plattville, Wis., Gerald, Stanley (Darlene), Duane, Darrell (Karen) and Larry (Char), all of Rochester, and James of Marlboro, Mass.; and two sisters, Janice (Chuck) Rouillard and Julie (Dan) Irish, both of Rochester. An infant daughter preceded him in death.
