Roman, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior, finished with 187 yards rushing and three touchdowns. The TDs went for 56, 61 and 16 yards.

"Alex worked on his speed a lot during the off-season, and that has made a big difference for him," Lourdes coach Mike Kesler said.

Lourdes, which moved to 2-2 overall, broke open a close game in the fourth quarter. That started with the Eagles stopping Lake City on a fourth-down play from inside the Lourdes 10. Lourdes then converted a big fourth down of its own on its ensuing drive, then watched Roman follow that with a 61-yard touchdown run.

Lourdes outscored Lake City (1-3) 20-6 in the fourth quarter after leading just 12-7 heading into the frame.

Lourdes quarterback Tyler Greguson also had a big rushing day. He finished with 77 yards on the ground, with TD runs of 9 and 49 yards. Greguson also 84 yards passing, completing 6 of 10 of his attempts.

Lake City was led by its quarterback, Ben Krehbiel, with 202 yards passing. Krehbiel was 11-for-21 with two touchdowns and an interception. The TD strikes went 30 yards to Joe Klennert and 66 yards to Terence Pettis.

Lake City was outgained 320-171 on the ground. The Tigers were led by Jeff Gay with 98 yards rushing.

Lourdes linebacker Marcus Gudgel had a big interception with seven minutes left in regulation to ice the win.
