Rosaline E. Conway — Lake City

LAKE CITY — The funeral for Rosaline E. Conway will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Congregational Church in Lake City, with the Rev. David Badgley officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Lake City.

Mrs. Conway, 89, a longtime jewelry store owner in Lake City, died Wednesday (July 16, 2008) at the Lake City Nursing Home.

Rosaline Olson was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Lake City. She grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1936. She married James Conway on Dec. 13, 1941, in Culver City, Calif. After World War II, they moved to Lake City, where they owned and operated J. F. Conway Jewelers. Mr. Conway died July 23, 1960.

Mrs. Conway owned and operated the store for 40 years, selling the business in 1987. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Lake City, Eastern Star and the Lake City Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by two sons, James (Susan) of Rochester and Rand (Bonnie) of Lake City. Other survivors include three grandsons, Joshua (Catherine) Conway of Cambridge, Mass., Aaron (Elizabeth) Conway of Missoula, Mont., and Riley (Andrea) Conway of Hershey, Pa.; and two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Conway and Samuel Conway. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ioline Leier; and a brother, Harry Olson.


Friends may call an hour before the service at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the Lake City Nursing Home or First Congregational Church.
