Rose Marie Bloom — Rose Creek

ROSE CREEK — The funeral for Rose Marie Bloom will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Ruben Spinler officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin.

Mrs. Bloom, 93, of Rose Creek, died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2007) at her home.

Rose Marie Buchan was born Sept. 28, 1913, in Sibley, Iowa. She married Joseph Bloom on Oct. 20, 1931, in Slayton, Minn. They made their home in Rose Creek. She was employed by Hormel Foods Corp., for 28 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and sewing quilts.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (Marvin) Miner and Joan (Phillip) Hegge, both of Rose Creek, and Charlotte Wood of Plainview; three sons, Darrell (Karen) of Austin, and Donald (Jean) and James (Joanne), both of Grand Meadow; 23 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and an hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.


Memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.
