Russell Francis Kindseth -- Kenyon

KENYON -- The funeral for Russell Francis Kindseth will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hegre Lutheran Church in rural Kenyon, with the Rev. Keith Homstad officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Kindseth, 87, of rural Kenyon, died Thursday (March 31, 2005) at Kenyon Sunset Home.

Born Aug. 19, 1917, in Kenyon Township, Goodhue County near Skyberg, he attended country school. He was inducted into the Army in 1942 and served at Adak and Attu, Alaska., and the European theater of World War II until his discharge in 1945. He married Donna McGowen, and they later divorced. He was a farmer in the Skyberg area and was a member of Hegre Lutheran Church and Kenyon VFW Post No. 141.

Survivors include one son, Jim (Vicki) of Chickaloon, Ala.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hanson Funeral Home in Kenyon and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
