HAYFIELD — The funeral service for Russell Robert Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Evanger Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Lissa Kahl officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion.
Mr. Johnson, 73, of Hayfield, died Friday (April 17, 2009) at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Dodge County. He married Lucille Mayer on June 3, 1961, in Austin. He served in the Army. He farmed until 1991.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church. He enjoyed tractors, puzzles, guitars, threshing, painting and playing cards and dice.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ronce and Troy of Hayfield, Joe of Rochester and Steve of Aldie, Va.; a daughter, Tracie Bjornson of Rochester; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernice (Gale) Grathwohl of Turtle Lake, Wis., and Doris (Russell) Jensen of Hayfield. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard.

Friends may call Monday at the church starting two hours before the service. Czaplewski Family Home of Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
