ROCHESTER -- A memorial Mass for Ruth Ann Buswell will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf, Minn., with the Rev. Glen Frerichs officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Minnesota Lake, Minn.
Mrs. Buswell, 28, of Rochester, a registered nurse, died Saturday (Dec. 13, 2003) at her home following a five-year illness with cancer.
Ruth Ann Sonnek was born Jan. 23, 1975, in Wells, graduated from Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton High School in 1993 and attended college for nursing. She was a registered nurse at Assisi Heights for a short time and then at the Federal Medical Center. On July 8, 2000, she married Trevor Buswell at her parents' farm in Waldorf. She enjoyed farming, especially combining corn, and wildlife, especially wolves.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Dominic of Rochester; her parents, Charles and Betty (Bartelt) Sonnek of Waldorf; 11 brothers, Charles "Rick" (Kandy) of LaCrescent, Timothy (Barb) of New Prague, Minn., Jonathan (Holli) of Lake City, Steven (Vonnie) of St. Clair, Minn., Christopher and Kellen, both of New Richland, Minn., Perry (Jolene) of River Falls, Wis., Peter (Lori) of Waldorf, Anthony (Brenda) of Mapleton, Minn., Matthew of Elysian, Minn., and Andrew of Rochester; and four sisters, Beth (John) Thompson of Rochester, Amy (David) Adams of Minneiska, Minn., Joy Sonnek of Waldorf and Sara Lee (Russ) Kientz of Janesville, Minn.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, Minn., and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
