Ruth E. Belter — Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral for Ruth E. Belter will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Belter, 81, of Rochester, formerly of Altura, died Monday (Dec. 24, 2007) at Saint Marys Hospital.

Ruth Elizabeth Koenig was born April 2, 1926, in Winona. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Lewiston High School. She married Delmer Belter on Feb. 28, 1949. She worked at Crenlo in Rochester and raised her family in Altura. Mrs. Belter moved to Rochester after her husband died in 1997.

She is survived by a son, Keith (Loreen Jonsgaard) of St. Charles; two daughters, Gail (Mark) Walsh of Columbus, Minn., and Lisa (Brian) Langseth of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; two sisters, Isabel Williams of New York, N.Y., and Dorothy Schinagel of Chicago; and special friend, Obert Osmundson of Ellendale, Minn. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Tyler, Nicole and Alex Langseth. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be an hour before the service Friday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes.
