KENYON -- A memorial service for Ruth L. Germundson will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenyon, with the Rev. Luther Mathsen officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery.
Mrs. Germundson, 94, of Kenyon, a retired psychiatric technician, died Wednesday (Oct. 6, 2004) at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester.
Ruth Leona Ress was born Aug. 2, 1910, in Faribault and attended German Lutheran School in Faribault. In 1943, she married Charles Germundson, and they lived in Kenyon. Mrs. Germundson was a psychiatric technician at the Minnesota State Hospital in Faribault until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenyon, was active in ladies aid and was a volunteer worker for Goodhue County Social Services. She enjoyed reading, decorating, sewing, gardening and walking.
Survivors include four daughters, Nancy (John) Fait of Owatonna, Lil (Bob) Scherman of Circle Pines, Minn., Joan (Jon) Clarner of Rochester and Judy (Harold) Henry of Deltona, Fla.; two sons, Eugene (Fern) Kispert and Vaughn (Jeanette) Kispert, both of Owatonna; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call an hour before the service Monday at the church.
