Sally L. Henderson -- Rochester

ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Sally L. Henderson, 53, of New York formerly of Rochester, will be 10 a.m. May 1 at All Souls Unitarian Church in New York.

She died Sunday (April 21, 2002) at her home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Rochester. She was a 1966 graduate of John Marshall High School, where she was an editor of the yearbook and member of the Rockettes Drill Team. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree in 1971, and master of fine arts degree in 1972, from the University of Colorado. She established her own business advising corporations on their art collections. In the 1980's, she wrote the book "Billboard Art" with photographer Robert Landau. In 1982, she moved to New York and founded her own design firm. On July 1, 1983, she married Thomas Bradford. A member of the graduate faculty of the New York School of Interior Design, she taught the school's first graduate course in "green" design, instructing students about the importance of choosing environmentally sound materials. She was a member of American Women for Economic Development and served on its executive roundtable.

Survivors include her husband; her father, Dr. John W. Henderson of Rochester; and one sister, Holly Henderson of Rochester. Her mother preceded her in death.
