The Austin School Board will meet tonight for their regular monthly meeting, which will be the first for the district’s new superintendent David Krenz.
The school board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Austin’s Municipal Building.
Several items are listed on the agenda, including a superintendent’s update from Krenz, who started working in the district July 1. He replaced Bruce Anderson, who served as the interim superintendent for a year.

Other items on the agenda include approving $1,929 in donations from various local groups, employee contracts and proposed dates for the upcoming truth-in-taxation Hearings. Districts can hold hearings prior to establishing their levies. The proposed date is 5 p.m. Dec. 7, with the final levy being adopted on Dec. 14.
The board also will consider approving a staff development plan for the 2009-2010 school year, since the 2 percent set-aside requirement has been lifted due to lack of state funding.
