Austin Public Schools and Riverland Community College are celebrating International Education Week with events that include a performance by Tres Mundos.
The musical ensemble features pianist/vocalist Viviana Pintado from Cuba, percussionist Eliezer Freites-Santos from Brazil and saxophonist/flutist Douglas Little from the United States. The group explores the multicultural mix of histories, languages, dances and cultures that have shaped the music of America.
Students and staff at Austin Public Schools will attend a performance on Friday. The performance is being funded with a grant from the Minnesota Music Educators Association.

RCC also is observing International Education Week .
International Education Week is a collaboration of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that gives schools and colleges an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education around the world.
Riverland’s International Student Club has hosted several cultural events through the week.
Several of the college’s international students will visit Austin Public Schools on Friday to discuss their countries and cultures with younger students.
