Scott Peters — Wanamingo

WANAMINGO — A visitation for Scott Peters will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, with a time of remembrance set for 6 p.m. Burial will be Monday in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Scott Peters, 50, of Wanamingo, died Wednesday (April 15, 2009) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Scott Michael Peters on Sept. 24, 1958, in Minneapolis, to Leo and Arlyne (Field) Peters. He attended school in Minneapolis and joined the Army, serving on active duty from 1975 to 1978. He remained in the Army Reserves until being honorably discharged in 1988. He attended Hennepin Technical College for heating and cooling, and worked for Johnson Equipment Co. In 1990 he moved to Zumbrota and worked as a welder for Concast Inc. for 13 years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping and canoeing.

He is survived by his son, Nick (Katie) of Goodhue; a stepdaughter, Tina Wilfahrt of Wanamingo; a grandson, Teven; his father, Leo of St. Cloud, Minn.; three sisters, Roxie (David) Erickson of Crystal, Minn., Monica (Bob) Stephney of Maple Grove, Minn., and Julie Peters (Mark Zabee) of St. Cloud; his special friend, Deb Peters of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky; his mother, Arlyne; a stepson, Josh Wilfahrt; and a niece, Jana Halverson.
