May Friendship Day, sponsored by Church Women United-Rochester Unit, will begin at noon with a a potluck salad luncheon at First Presbyterian Church, Rochester. Theme of the program is "Sharing Our Stories, Healing Our Hearts, Celebrating God's Love." There will also be a shower for the Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Mississippi Valley Partners 85-Mile Garage Sale will be held Friday through Sunday by residents and stores from 13 historic river towns including Lake City, Red Wing, Frontenac, Wabasha, Nelson, Pepin and Maiden Rock. Information: 1-888-999-2619.

"Paws on Parade," the annual pet walk sponsored by Paws and Claws Humane Society, will begin at 10 a.m. at Cooke Park Pavilion on Seventh Street Northwest, Rochester (registration from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.). Annual salad luncheon, by Pilot Mound WELCA, will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church in rural Chatfield. Menu includes scalloped potatoes with ham, assorted salads, rolls, bars and beverage. Cost: $5 adults, $3 children and free for ages younger than 6.
Pork barbecue dinner, by United Lutheran Church in Chester, Iowa, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a quilt raffle and other items.
