Three days of music and history begin today at the Olmsted County History Center. The first event is a performance at 7 p.m. by Ash and Reuben Fast Horse, who will present Native American story, song and dance. The program includes an introduction to the Lakota language, traditional dances and sign language. Admission is $3. Gaelic Tribe will provide music for a traditional barn dance at 7 p.m. Friday at the Steppel Farm. Music of Ireland, Scotland and Wales will accompany jigs, reels and other dances. Food will be available. Admission: $3. Hands-on-History Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with 35 interactive demonstrations. Visitors will be able to explore pioneer life and crafts, including corn-grinding, shingle making, hide tanning and plowing. Vintage baseball will also be featured. Information: 282-9447.

The annual quilt show of the Rochester Quilt Sew-ciety opens today at the Army Reserve Center, 1715 Marion Road S.E. At least 150 quilts will be displayed. There will also be a silent auction, boutique and a raffle quilt. Lunch will be available. Admission is $3. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Annual Harvest Supper by Grace Lutheran Church in Austin, will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The menu features stuffed meatballs with the trimmings. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and under.
Friday Night Fish Fry will be served from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus Hall in Austin. The menu includes all-you-can-eat fish, baked potato, salad bar and coffee. Cost: $7 per person.
The Lyra Baroque Orchestra opens its Rochester season with a three-harpsichord concert at 7:30 p.m. at Zumbro Lutheran Church. Brazilian harpsichordist Rosana Lanzelotte joins Lyra director Jacques Ogg and Paul Boehnke to play three harpsichords and five of Bach's harpsichord concerti. The program, "Zimmerman's Kaffeehaus," imagines Bach presenting the pieces in a favorite German venue. The church is at 623 Third Ave. S.W. in Rochester. Chatfield's Cemetery Walk will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be guided tours every 15 minutes. Local actors will portray residents of the past. Take U.S. 52 south from Chatfield and watch for signs. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. In the event of inclement weather, the walk will be Sept. 28.
