A Dinner Theater Benefit will begin at 6:15 p.m. in Riverland Community College East Cafeteria building, Austin, followed by a 7:30 p.m. preview performance of "Footloose," an RCC production held in Frank W. Bridges Theatre. Cost: $25. Proceeds will go to theater scholarship funding. Additional performances will be at 7:30 p.m. April 26-27, 2 p.m. April 28 and 7:30 p.m. May 1-4. Earth Day/Arbor Day Plant Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to approximately noon at Quarry Hill Nature Center. A variety of prairie and woodland wildflowers, as well as shrubs, will be available. Plants are either bare root or transplanted into 3-inch pots and sell for $2 to $6 each. Proceeds go to programs and habitat restoration at Quarry Hill. Information: Quarry Hill at 281-6114.
A pancake supper will begin serving at 4:30 p.m. at Sons of Norway Kristiana Lodge No. 47 in Douglas. Cost: $4.50 ages 10 and older, $3 ages 6-10, and free for 5 and younger.
Sunday, April 28
Spring Fest 2002, sponsored by Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Menu includes Windsor pork chop, corn, baked potato, roll, pie and beverage -- drumstick is substituted in children's dinner. Takeouts available. Cost: $7 in advance, $8 at the door and $3 for children's meal. Tickets available at the church office or Don's Valley IGA in Spring Valley.
