Sewer project to close Seventh St. S.E.

Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN

One block of Seventh Street Northeast in Rochester will be closed for two weeks starting Monday.

The closure, between First Avenue and the west line of Silver Lake Drive, is for construction work on a sanitary sewer and watermain project. The street is being reconstructed through the area as well.

No immediate detour is being established because traffic already is going to be detoured off Broadway during the week of June 15-19 for work on the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad crossing. After that, a detour for the Seventh Street work will be to Civic Center Drive.

The closure will affect access to area businesses. Kruse Lumber and the Repertory Theatre can be reached from West Silver Lake Drive. Other Seventh Street businesses west of the road closure can be reached from North Broadway.
