HARMONY — The funeral for Shirley I. Hass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, Iowa.
Mrs. Hass, 76, of Granger, died Tuesday (April 8, 2008) at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.
Shirley Irene Miller was born June 2, 1931. She attended grade school and high school in Cresco, graduating in 1949. She worked at Elm’s Cafe and the Cresco Cafe. While working at the Cresco Cafe she met Harry A. Hass. They were married June 6, 1950, and made their home in the Granger area. Mrs. Hass also worked at the Granger Bank and later at the Long Branch in Granger. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and crocheting, knitting and sewing, and made many fine doilies, afghans and quilts.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen (Al) Tackman of Decorah, Iowa, and Kathy (Marvin) King of McIntire, Iowa; a son, Randy (Loretta) of Alta Vista, Iowa; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Robert (Jane) Miller of Cresco; and three sisters, Norma (Ervin) Albertson of Tama, Iowa, Betty (Ellis) Fravel of Cresco and Sandra (Lacy) Jeffries of Columbia, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Donald Miller; and a sister, Janice Herold.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lindstrom Funeral Home, and an hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.
