Shirley M. Murray — Oronoco

ORONOCO — The funeral for Shirley M. Murray will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Oronoco, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Titusdahl officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery.

Mrs. Murray, 80, a lifelong Oronoco area resident, died Tuesday (Dec. 11, 2007) at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester.

Shirley Mae Brown was born July 21, 1927, in Oronoco. She attended schools in Oronoco and Pine Island, and on Aug. 8, 1944, married Edward Murray in Rochester. The couple lived their entire lives around the Oronoco area. Mrs. Murray did light housekeeping around the area and reared their five children. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Oronoco and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Mike (Priscilla) of Sulphur, La., David of Columbia, Mo., Roger of Oronoco and Steven (LuAnn) of Rochester; a daughter, Terrie Sue (Robert) Yatison of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Jr. (Mary) Brown of Rochester and David (Maryetta) Brown of Machesney, Ill.; and a sister, Sandy (Frank) Ness of Kasson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Allen; and a sister, Wanda.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Mahler Chapel in Pine Island, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church in Oronoco.
