Drivers on South Broadway in Rochester need to pay special attention to the traffic lights between U.S. 14 and U.S. 52.
Starting today, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the city of Rochester, is adjusting signals so drivers may sometimes encounter a green left-turn arrow after the green light.
To reduce delays and stops on Broadway, motorists may encounter a left-turn arrow before the green light in the morning and a left-turn arrow after the green later in the day.
The new system affects Broadway intersections at 14th, 16th, 20th, 25th and 28th streets.
The transportation department and Rochester also are developing new signal timing plans for U.S. 14, Civic Center Drive and 37th Street Northwest. These timing changes will occur during the next several weeks.
