MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Lynx guard Katie Smith has been selected as a reserve for the 2003 Western Conference All-Star Team, the WNBA announced.
Smith -- who has been selected as a reserve four consecutive seasons -- ranks among league leaders in points, field goals made, field goal percentage, minutes and free throw percentage.
Smith -- the all-time leading scorer in the history of women's professional basketball with 3,932 points -- scored the 2,500th point in her WNBA career Tuesday night in Houston.
In doing so, Smith became the second-fastest player in league history -- 139 games -- to reach the milestone. Smith scored 1,431 points in two-plus seasons with the Columbus Quest of the ABL.
