Snowmobiler dies after hitting fish house

CENTER CITY, Minn. -- A man was killed after his snowmobile struck a fish house on North Center Lake, Chisago County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

The sheriff's office received a call from a man who was icefishing shortly after noon Friday, reporting there was a person lying near a fish house on the lake, authorities said.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene to find the snowmobiler dead a short distance from his vehicle.

The sheriff's office said the man had been riding his snowmobile on the lake between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday. Authorities believe a portion of his snowmobile and his body struck the fish house, killing him.

His name is withheld pending notification of relatives.
