ALBERT LEA 7-2, CENTURY 4-12
Offense rises up for Century
Century rode some momentum created in a first-game loss to Albert Lea, to a 12-2 six-inning win in the second game of the doubleheader.
Century had scored single runs in the final three innings of the first game, a 7-4 loss.
"Our offense was coming in that first game," Century coach Tim Strain said. "It was just that we got down too much early."

Century got on top big in the nightcap, grabbing a 6-2 second-inning lead.
The Panthers got three hits from Breanna Bjerke, and two each from McKinzie Lewison and Katie Zimny. Bjerke had two doubles and Zimny drove in two runs. Century finished the game with 13 hits.
"It was nice to see us knock the ball around a little bit," Strain said.
Steph Klein got the pitching win.
In Game 1, Century fell behind 5-1 in the second inning. Albert Lea scored five runs in the second inning, just two of them earned as Century was hit with errors.
Steph Klein had three hits, including a triple. Bjerke hit a home run over the center-field fence, just the fourth time that a Century girl has ever hit a fence-clearing homer.
The Panthers are 3-3 in the Big Nine and overall. The host Winona at 5 p.m. Thursday.
