STEWARTVILLE — Stewartville rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and beat Rochester Lourdes 11-10 in a Hiawatha Valley League softball game Monday afternoon.
Stewartville was down to its last out, but started its comeback when Kelly Norman smacked a solo home run.
Shawnna Sperber continued the rally with a double and came home on a single by Wendi Irlbeck. Irlbeck moved up on a passed ball and scampered home with the winning run on a single by Kayla Uptagrafft.
"When a team beats you, that’s one thing. But when your own team beats itself, that’s harder to take," Lourdes coach Doc Johnson said.

"In essence that’s what happened to us throughout the game, and we’ve had a number of those games throughout the season. We just can’t continually do that and expect to win."
Lourdes hurt itself with six errors, although Stewartville matched that. But the Tigers also finished with 19 hits against Lourdes pitcher Lindsay Frie, who went the distance.
Irlbeck was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and three runs. Uptagrafft had a two-run homer and a triple for the Tigers, and Christina Stanger was 3-for-4.
For Lourdes, Valerie Tracy was 3-for-4, Courtney Miller was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Paige Leyendecker was 2-for-2. The Eagles had 11 hits.
Stewartville improved to 6-4, 6-3 in the HVL. Lourdes is 4-8, 4-6 in the conference.
Lourdes is home today against Kasson-Mantorville beginning at 4:45 at Soldiers Field.
