Southeastern Minn. AAU team is 2nd

The Southeast Minnesota Suns girls AAU basketball team finished second last weekend in the 18-and-under age group of the Division I AAU State Tournament.

It was the third consecutive year the Suns have finished second in the most competitive division in Minnesota AAU basketball. Last year, the Suns went on to finish 9th at the National AAU tournament.

The Suns opened with a 60-49 win over the Minnesota Lady Hoops, then beat Metro Stars 60-49 in the semifinals. The Suns lost in the finals to North Tartan, 78-47.

Kristi Boese (Mayo, UND) led the Suns in scoring in all three games. She had 16 points and 15 rebounds in the first game, scored 20 in the semfinals, and 15 in the finals.
