DODGE CENTER — The Southland/Grand Meadow boys golf team finished ninth on Tuesday at the Triton Invitational.

The host Triton Cobras finished first in the 10-team event with a 333 score. Stewartville was just one stroke off the pace in the runner-up spot. The S/GM boys finished with a team score of 378 on the day.

Matt Breitbarth had the low round for S/GM with an 89 on 18 holes. Brandon Kinney was right behind him at just one stroke back.

"It was a good day for golf," S/GM coach Tim Brennan said. "The field is always strong at Triton, and although our finish may not indicate it, we did play better individually. Matt had two good rounds, and Brett DeWall shot 100 with a 12 on one hole. The boys are improving and we’re looking forward to a bit of practice time before we play again next week."
