WINONA -- Kenny Salwey, who has spent many years living off the land in a Mississippi River backwater north of Winona, will speak at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Lake Park Lodge in Winona.
The free talk is sponsored by the Hiawatha Valley Audubon Society and open to the public. He will talk about what he has learned about protecting the river valley.
To get to the lodge, go to U.S. 61 in Winona to Huff Street and cross the causeway on Lake Winona, then go right two blocks.
