Two new visual art scholarships are available through the Bluff Country Artists Gallery in Spring Grove. Each scholarship is for $1,000. To apply for the stipend, students need to create a new work of art.
One of the scholarships is reserved for a graduating senior and the other may go to another graduating senior or to a student currently studying art in college. Recipients need to be from Fillmore or Houston counties.
The deadline is June 20, to allow students time during the summer to create the work. Students must be available at the gallery on the afternoon of June 27 to answer questions about their work. Details about times will be available through the gallery. The awards will be determined that day.
For more information on how to apply for the scholarship, stop by the Bluff Country Artists Gallery at 111 W. Main Street in Spring Grove, or call (507) 498-ARTS.
The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. and closed on Mondays.
