ST. PAUL -- The men's sports programs at St. John's and the women's teams at Gustavus finished the 2002-03 school year as the best in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The Johnnies, who have won six of the last seven George Durenberger Awards, were conference champs in football, hockey and nordic skiing.

The Gusties, who have won three straight Pat Wiesner Awards, won MIAC titles in basketball, nordic skiing, softball and tennis.

Winners are determined by a points system based on schools' placement in the conference standings in each sport.
