St. John's rushes for 7 TDs

NORTHFIELD -- St. John's had seven rushing touchdowns and gained 268 yards on the ground in beating Carleton 55-7 on Saturday.

Mike Lofboom had touchdown runs of 1, 11 and 6 yards for the Johnnies (2-1, 1-0 MIAC). St. John's also had 232 yards passing; Alex Kofoed was 12-of-22 for 198 yards and one touchdown.

The Johnnies have won 25 straight MIAC games -- one shy of the conference record.

Bethel, Minn. 42, St. Olaf 6/Phil Porta rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bethel to a victory over St. Olaf. A.J. Parnell passed for 160 yards and two touchdowns and Zach Ludvigson caught five passes for 94 yards and one touchdown.


Hamline 20, Gustavus Adolphus 18/ Dan Ryks' 5-yard touchdown catch as time expired gave Hamline a win over Gustavus Adolphus.

Concordia, Moor. 20, St. Thomas, Minn. 3/Ed Oehlers ran for two touchdowns and Brian Halverson added two field goals as Concordia-Moorhead beat St. Thomas 20-3.

Minn.-Duluth 14, Minn.-Moorhead 10/Freshman Joe Russell had 205 yards rushing and two touchdowns as Minnesota Duluth defeated Minnesota State, Moorhead.

St. Cloud St. 42, Northern St., S.D. 7/Matt Birkel scored twice on the ground and once through the air in St. Cloud State's win over Northern State. St. Cloud State (4-0) led 35-0 at halftime.

Minn.-Mankato 45, Concordia, St.P. 20/Sean Treasure rushed for 176 yards and scored two touchdowns as Minnesota State, Mankato, beat Concordia-St. Paul.

North Central 31, Augsburg 24/Steve Holden carried 33 times for 260 yards and two touchdowns to lead North Central to a 31-24 win over Augsburg. Marcus LeVesseur completed TD passes of 14 and 65 yards to Shawn Johnson for Augsburg (0-2).

Westminter, Mo. 28, Minn-Morris 13/Boone Brady ran for two touchdowns as Westminster beat Minnesota-Morris .

Bemidji St. 58, Wis.-River Falls 14/Tyler Olson and Alvaro Carvajal ran for three touchdowns apiece as Bemidji State beat Wisconsin-River Falls.


Upper Iowa 28, Southwest St., Minn., 16/Jay Lehman passed for 214 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score as Upper Iowa beat Southwest State.

Grinnell 48, Macalester 35/Nate Wineinger ran for 237 yards and scored five touchdowns as Grinnell defeated Macalester.
