Stella Fulton — Red Wing

RED WING — The funeral for Stella Fulton will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Esdaile, Wis. Burial will be in Orion Center Cemetery in Chatfield.

Mrs. Fulton, 80, of Bay City, Wis., formerly of Red Wing and Chatfield, died Monday (March 2, 2009).

She was born June 23, 1928, in England, and was raised near the town of Hadleigh. On April 9, 1945, she married Arthur Fulton while he was stationed in England serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Fulton was later stationed in Germany and Mrs. Fulton, with many other "war brides," traveled to the U.S. on an ocean liner. She eventually moved to her husband’s hometown of Red Wing. When Mr. Fulton returned from the service in 1947 the couple moved to the family farm near Chatfield. They then moved back to Red Wing.

In 1957 the couple moved to a small farm outside of Bay City.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Bonnie) of Capron, Ill., David (Linda) of Hanlontown, Iowa, Shirley Schilling of Bay City, Gary (Pat) of Rollingstone, and Ron (Cathy) of Hudson, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one due in July; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her family in England, including a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband in June 2001; siblings, Frank and Derek Jaye, and Millicent Harvey; a granddaughter, Shelly Frenzen; and great-grandson, Bradley Fulton.


Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home , Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and an hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice.
