In reference to Linda Kopecky’s recent letter to the editor titled "Constantly changing vote totals seem suspicious," this type of doubt-sowing by conservative (GOP?) cynics is growing tiresome in the extreme.
How many times must mainstream journalists, plus credible elected and appointed officials — including Republican ones, like the governor and Sen. Coleman — publicly discount such unfounded rumors (e.g. "ballots found in the backseats of cars") before rhetorical bomb-throwers of the conservative base get the message?
By repeating the lies over and over they only do disservice to our collective faith in government. Let the mandated recount process speak for itself, and hopefully the final vote tally will not this time leave any room for doubt in the minds of reasonable people.
