Studio Academy High School, a Rochester Charter school, is having its commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. today at the University Center Rochester Regional Sports Center.

Here are the charter school's top seniors for 2005:

Philip Lieder, the son of Janet and Dave Lieder, is class valedictorian.

He has been active in the school's music program as an instrumentalist and a vocalist. He has played roles in several school plays and has particular interest in environmental issues.


He will attend Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, next year. This summer, he plans to work in Alaska.

R. Ellen Brubaker, daughter of Heidi and Simeon Brubaker and class salutatorian, has been active in the visual arts program.

She won a scholarship from the Freshwater Society for a photograph and for most improved artist at the Studio Academy senior art show.

She also has been active in music, theater and the speech team. She will attend college in Salem, Ore., this fall to study English literature.
