AUSTIN, Minn. -- The National Barrow Show Progeny Test issued 17 Super Sire awards at the show held on the Mower County fairgrounds in Austin.
Super Sire honorees were Dan and Michael Hodges, Julian, Neb., three Berkshires; Robert Burch, Wabash, Ind., one Berkshire; Brown Farms, Centralia, Mo., one Chester White; Waldo Farms, DeWitt, Neb., two Duroc entries and one Landrace; Huinker Durocs, Decorah, Iowa, one Duroc; BG Durocs, Ames, Iowa, one Duroc; Comparts Boar Store of IA, one Duroc; Stewart's Duroc Farm, Waverly, Iowa, one Duroc; David Martin, Marion, Iowa, one Duroc; Forkner Farms, Richards, Mo., one Hampshire; Lawrence Griebel, Bellevue, Iowa, one Poland China; Irwin Spot Farm, Graston, Ind., one Spot entry; and Ifft Yorkshires, one Yorkshire.
In other National Barrow Show news, Jackson County Center FFA No. 2 of Lakefield took top honors in the Junior Division judging contest.
The Jackson County team was coached by Nathan Resch and members are Levi Johnson, Stephanie Tewes, Laura Schultz and Karen Vancura.
