A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday after the theft of a car from the parking lot of a convenience store in Southeast Rochester.

"The car has been recovered and one suspect is in custody," said Lt. Scott Sherden.

The theft occurred during normal business hours on southeast Marion Road.

The car's owner went into the convenience store and left keys in the vehicle. That's when someone got in and drove the vehicle away, according to police. The victim called police immediately afterward.

"The suspect was located in the area after a short canine track," Sherden said. The police dog tracked the suspect into McQuillan Park.
