Goodhue coach Bill Sutter won the 600th match of his career Saturday in a 41-21 dual win over Buffalo at the Park Center wrestling tournament.
Sutter, 58, started coaching at Goodhue in 1969. With a 4-1 record Saturday, the Wildcats improved to 17-8-1 this season.
Sutter's career record improved to 602-113-7 for a remarkable winning percentage of .839.
Paynesville wrestling head coach Vern Vagle is Minnesota's active career wins leader. He won his 600th match in mid-December. Vagle is third in the nation among active wrestling coaches.
