One or more vandals etched a 10-foot Nazi swastika into a putting green and damaged equipment at Northern Hills Golf Course in northwest Rochester during the weekend.
Rochester police say a grass-killing fluid, perhaps gasoline or lighter fluid, was used to burn the symbol into the fifth green at the public course. The flag and cup insert from that hole are missing.
The vandal or vandals also dug holes in some greens, broke flags, damaged a ball washwer and pulled up flowers.
Damage is estimated at $2,375, police said.
