Tap Shoes kicks off Page Series

Performances by Moscow Festival Ballet, the Virsky Ukrainian Dance Company and the Wailin’ Jennys highlight the 2009-2010 Page Series at Saint Mary’s University in Winona.

Season tickets for the series are now available; new subscribers receive a 10-percent discount off tickets, while returning subscribers receive a 25-percent discount.

• Buckets and Tap Shoes, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2; virtuoso percussion and tapping. $12 adults, $5 senior citizens and students.

• Virsky Ukrainian Dance Company, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15; 80-member traditional folk troupe. $27 and $25.


• In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, "Beneath the Surface," 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23; an exploration of our relationship to water. $12 and $5.

• Five By Design: Club Swing, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19; the age of swing music is recreated. $25 and $20, pre-show dinner available.

• Underground Railroad Theatre, "Are You Ready My Sister?" 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15; the story of Harriet Tubman. $12 and $5.

• Moscow Festival Ballet, "Giselle," 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26; a classic from a Russian dance company. $27 and $25, pre-show dinner available.

• Theatre Sans Fil, "The Hobbit," 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9; Tolkien’s tale told through large-scale puppets. $12 and $5.

• The Wailin’ Jennys, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24; acoustic music and sweet harmonies. $25 and $20.

• Danu, 7:30 p.m.. March 10; traditional Irish music from County Waterford. $25 and $20, pre-show Irish dinner available.

• Ned Kirk, piano, 7:30 p.m. March 13, 3 p.m. March 14 in Figiulo Recital Hall; music of Beethoven and others. $22 and $18.


The cost for pre-show dinners is $22 for adults, $14 for children, and can be reserved when buying tickets in advance.
