EVANSDALE, Iowa — That cougar sighted in Evansdale?
It's probably a house cat.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologist Jason Auel studied photos a woman took while walking near the Cedar River on Tuesday and determined the image was of a regular cat.
Auel said he made his determination by examining the height of the grass relative to the cat's stomach and the animal's tail size.
He says, "I definitely think it's a house cat."

Cougars aren't native to Iowa but Auel says they sometimes wander through the area.
