It is customary to review American history in the fashion described by Greg Miller:
"We start from the past and go to the present," he said.
But that's all audiences may find routine about "The Complete History of America Abridged," a comedy being presented Nov. 5-7 at Rochester Civic Theatre.
Miller is directing the show and will be joined on stage by Nick Mezacapa and Jerry Casper, his cohorts from last season's hit, "The Complete William Shakespeare Abridged."
"This is by the same guys who wrote 'Shakespeare,'" Miller said. "It's the same wacky formula. Three guys play all the different parts in American history."

During the two-hour tour of American history, audiences will meet, if only in the most fleeting way, everyone from Amerigo Vespucci (and his wife) to Timothy Leary.
Included are salutes to 1950s game shows, Franklin Roosevelt as a Wild West hero, and Lewis and Clark as a song-and-dance vaudeville team. "It pokes a lot of fun at American history -- in a loving way," Miller said.
