The Killer Hayseeds headline a concert and birthday celebration Aug. 13 at Mayo Civic Center auditorium.

The event marks the 100th birthday of the Rochester Park and Recreation Department, which operates the civic center.

Also on the bill are Therica, a popular Rochester band of the 1970s, which has reunited for shows in recent years, and Second Image, which plays oldies.

The Hayseeds, based in Minnesota, play country-pop-rock. The band's latest album is "The Good Old Days."

Therica is propelled by a four-piece horn section and has a repertoire that features several tunes by Chicago. Second Image, a popular oldies band during the 1990s, is also reuniting for this concert. Music starts with Second Image at 7:30 p.m., followed by Therica at 8:45 p.m. and the Killer Hayseeds at 10 p.m.

Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the door, and are available at the civic center box office and through Ticketmaster. For more information, call 287-2222.
