I'm not opposed to a celebration, but where is it written that after a team wins or loses a title game, their fans have a license to become drunken, brawling idiots? It's absolutely absurd that police officers have to put their own health and safety at stake every time a major championship game is played.

It's time to put some teeth into laws against this kind of behavior. Let people know that if they get drunk and decide to torch a stranger's car just because their team didn't win the big game, they'll be spending the next three or four semesters in a jail cell, rather than a fraternity house. Students seen throwing a missile at a police officer should be expelled immediately, and there shouldn't be a college in the country that re-admits them.

If you want to throw things at law enforcement officials, move to the Middle East. I have a feeling that over there, people don't get quite so worked up about sporting events. They have other problems to worry about.
