Kids idle during the summer? Wehrenberg Theatres has an alternative.

At 10 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday, starting this week and running through Aug. 6, the Galaxy 14 Cine is offering the Family Summer Series 2009, which features free family film showings.

The lineup of films includes "Open Season 2," "Stuart Little 3," "Kung Fu Panda" and "Tale of Despereaux."

Seats are first-come, first-served, but tickets may be reserved prior to showtimes. Seats cannot be reserved together, so guests should arrive early for best seating.
