Seventh-grade students from three schools in the region, won awards from the State Patrol for their essays with the theme of "Alcohol and Drugs ... No Good For Me."
They are Katie Prinsen of Peterson, who attends Rushford-Peterson schools, Stephanie Forrester of Caledonia and Destinee Meyer of Ellendale.
The essay was for a child to say why alcohol and drugs aren’t good for them, including how it’s affected their lives and why they don’t intend to have drugs affect their lives.
