People still can sign up for Evening in Red fundraiser Saturday to benefit the Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The fifth annual event, which will start at 6 p.m. at the Austin Country Club, will raise money to help and sustain the local Red Cross chapter. Proceeds will derive from ticket sales, silent and live auctions as well as direct financial contributions.
Tickets are $60 per person and are available at the chapter office, 305 Fourth Ave. N.W., in Austin.
The evening will begin with a social hour and hors ‘oeuvres, with bidding starting on a variety of silent-auction items, such as trips, theme baskets and handcrafted gifts.

After dinner, a live auction will be conducted, offering travel packages, among other items.
Concluding the event will be a drawing for a live money tree budding out with $1,000 in cash.
Debbie and Julie McHugh are leading the event’s planning.
