Timberwolves open at home against Bucks

MINNEAPOLIS -- New Timberwolves point guard Sam Cassell won't have to wait long to face his old team.

Cassell, who along with Ervin Johnson came to the Wolves from Milwaukee in a trade earlier this month, and the Wolves will open their 2003-04 NBA season against the Bucks on Oct. 29 at Target Center.

The game will also be the first at Target Center for former Wolves forward Joe Smith, who went to Milwaukee with guard Anthony Peeler for Cassell and Johnson.

Highlights of Minnesota's schedule, released Tuesday, also include 17 national television appearances, a Feb. 6 visit by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and two home games against NBA champion San Antonio.

The schedule also includes two home games against the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers.

The Wolves will play Western Conference opponents four times and Eastern Conference foes twice. Local TV and preseason schedules will be released later.
