LYLE — A truck was deemed a total loss after being destroyed by a fire Sunday in Lyle.

According to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi, at about 11 a.m., the owner of the 2000 Ford F150, who was going to get tools, parked the truck on Elm Street. When he returned to the truck about five minutes later, he noticed it was on fire.

The man threw buckets of water on the fire in an attempt to put it out, said Amazi.

Lyle Fire Department responded to the scene. Damages were estimated at $11,000.
