Truck, school bus collide along 8th Street

Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN

A truck collided with the side of an Austin Public Schools bus that was traveling south about 3:30 p.m. Friday along Eighth Street Southwest near Eighth Avenue.

No one was injured in the crash; the truck sustained severe front-end damage and was towed away. The bus, owned by Austin Transportation, had a large dent on one of its sides.

Austin Transportation owner Becky Crumb said five students were riding the bus at the time. Four students who use wheelchairs were transferred to another bus; the other student had someone pick him up at the scene.

The State Patrol, Austin police and paramedics responded to the accident.
