TWO HARBORS, Minn. -- Tugboat Edna G. has returned.
Closed two tourism seasons, the historic boat is about ready to welcome back visitors.
A five-week project to remove or safely seal flaking lead paint is expected to be completed by the end of next week. Tours should resume by August.
The old tug has been a fixture in Two Harbors for 107 years.
Named for the daughter of a former Duluth and Iron Range Railway Co. president, Edna G. served two years during World War I in Norfolk, Va. She was granted a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The tug received a $90,000 overhaul at Fraser Shipyards in Superior in 1993 and 1994. Volunteers and $2,700 restored her whistle in 2000.
