MINNEAPOLIS -- A St. Paul TV reporter has written a book about Gov. Jesse Ventura's 1998 candidacy and first term.
"Inside the Ropes With Jesse Ventura," by Tom Hauser of KSTP-TV will be published this summer by the University of Minnesota Press.
"To people who have been casual observers of the governor's antics, this book brings it all together, from the day he walked out of his last radio job through the present legislative session," Hauser said.
"It's not a hatchet job, but the unvarnished truth as I saw it," he said.
Ventura spokesman John Wodele said the governor was a bit irritated Monday when informed about the book.

"He wasn't surprised that a Capitol reporter assigned to his beat would write a book.," Wodele said. "And he said the irony is that Tom is often one of the reporters complaining about the governor writing books while on the job."
